Combi-Diffuse ventilation
This system is a ventilation system designed for use in temperate regions of the world. Combi-Diffuse ventilation is a negative pressure system for pig production.
System
Combi-Diffuse combines the best properties from two ventilation systems: Diffuse and LPV. Fresh air is taken into the house through the ceiling (perforated steel plates or wood wool cement boards) supplemented with additional air intake through wall or ceiling inlets for hot periods. Additional air intake can be used as emergency ventilation to ensure the survival of the animals in case of a power or operational failure.
Air is let out through chimneys in the roof.
SKOV’s Combi-Diffuse ventilation ensures:
- Optimum house climate without excess heat, moisture and harmful gases in the house
- Minimum risk of draught nuisances during cold periods
- Adequate air velocity and a cooling effect during hot periods
- Control of air direction, quantity and velocity during hot periods

Air intake
During cold periods air is let in through the ceiling which has a constant opening area with tiny holes or pores. This ensures low air velocity already when air enters the house, thus preventing the risk of draught nuisances in the animal zone.
The quantity of air is controlled solely by means of the negative pressure in the house.
During hot periods, the air intake is supplemented with DA 1800 ceiling inlets to ensure sufficient air velocity during the hottest periods and thus a cooling effect to maintain optimum production. Type DA 1200 wall inlets can be used as an alternative to the DA 1800 ceiling inlet.
Air outlet
Air is let out through DA 600 outlet units. DA 600 was developed to ensure high output at low power consumption. DA 600 has been optimised aerodynamically and the fans and outlets have been optimised as units. The DA 600 outlet units are controlled in accordance with the energy-saving MultiStep® exhaust principle that ensures annual power savings of 50-70% compared to traditional principles.
Control
The DOL 234F climate computer provides efficient and accurate climate control ensuring optimum growth under the given conditions. DOL 234F is modular and can be adapted optimally to each individual production. The computer controls temperature, humidity and ventilation based on the age of the animals. Wall or ceiling inlets are connected automatically by the climate computer. The system can be supplemented with an emergency opening function that ensures the well-being of the animals in case of a power failure.
