Combi-Tunnel ventilation
The system can be used in subtropical and tropical regions of the world. Combi-Tunnel ventilation is a negative pressure system suitable for poultry and pig production.
System
The system integrates various ventilation principles into a single intelligent system. Combi-Tunnel ventilation ensures optimum conditions for the animals by letting ventilation depend on the outdoor temperature and the age of the animals. The system is designed specifically for regions with heavy daily or seasonal temperature fluctuations. Fresh air is taken in through wall inlets during cold periods, thus creating minimum ventilation to remove the excess moisture and heat of the animals; furthermore, the air velocity is kept at a low level. During hot periods, fresh air is supplied through a tunnel opening to create a cooling air current in the longitudinal direction of the house. Air is let out through wall fans/chimneys during cold periods and through gable fans during hot periods.

Air intake
At lower outdoor temperatures, air is taken in through DA 1200 / 1911 wall inlets. DA 1200 / 1911 has an air inlet control function that improves the quality of the air intake at low ventilation requirements. These wall inlets close at high outdoor temperatures and air is taken in through a Rack & Pinion-controlled tunnel opening at one end of the building. The tunnel opening can be with or without cooling pads.
Air outlet
At low outdoor temperatures, air is let out through wall fans or the DA 600 units. At high outdoor temperatures, air is let out through large gable fans located opposite the tunnel opening with cooling pads in order to create a cooling air current (chill effect) in the longitudinal direction of the house. It is possible to achieve a cooling effect of 10-25° C, depending on the air humidity. The air outlet is controlled in accordance with the energy-saving MultiStep® exhaust principle that ensures annual power savings of 50-70% compared to traditional principles.
Control
The DOL 539 climate computer provides efficient and accurate climate control ensuring optimum growth under conditions characterised by frequent and heavy temperature fluctuations. DOL 539 is modular and can be adapted optimally to each individual production. The computer controls the system based on the temperature experienced by the animals. The system can be supplemented with an emergency opening function that ensures the well-being of the animals in case of a power failure.
