LPV ventilation
LPV (Low Power Ventilation) is a ventilation system used in temperate regions of the world. The system is designed to ventilate pig and poultry productions. LPV with wall and ceiling inlets is a classic negative pressure system which can be adapted to most house types.
System
Bred animals, high stocking densities and high productivity place heavy demands on the house climate. LPV ventilation ensures accurate adaptation of temperature, air humidity, air velocity, etc. Pigs and poultry in a specific age group have a specific temperature at which they feel most comfortable, which ensures optimum productivity.
With emergency ventilation, the survival of the animals is ensured in case of a power or operational failure.
SKOV’s LPV ventilation system ensures:
- A stable house climate all year
- Optimum use of air taken in
- Optimum control of air direction, quantity and velocity
- Secure and easy climate control, as required
- Low energy consumption
- Integrated emergency ventilation
Air intake
Fresh air is supplied through the DA 1200 wall inlet or the DA 1500 ceiling inlet. Both DA 1200 and DA 1500 feature an advanced inlet control function that improves the quality of the air intake, especially during cold periods where ventilation requirements are low. During cold periods, fresh air is directed towards the ceiling and is mixed with the house air before it reaches the animal zone. During hot periods, the air is led directly towards the animals.
Alternatively, air can be supplied through DA 50 roof inlets. Thanks to air split baffles, it is possible to combine a high output with low air velocity in the animal zone during cold periods, thus protecting the animals against draught. During hot periods and when fully opened, DA 50 ensures a high output at high air velocity, thus creating a cooling effect.
Air outlet
Air is let out through DA 600 outlet units. DA 600 was developed to ensure high output at low power consumption. DA 600 has been optimised aerodynamically, and the fans and outlets have been optimised as units. The DA 600 outlet units are controlled in accordance with the energy-saving MultiStep® exhaust principle that ensures annual power savings of 50-70% compared to traditional principles.
Wall fans can be used as an alternative to the DA 600 units. Wall fans can be combined with the DA 600 units to provide additional ventilation, or all the air can be let out through wall fans.
Control
The control function is handled by DOL 234 or DOL 339 climate computers. DOL 339 is primarily used for poultry houses and very large houses. The climate computers provide efficient and accurate climate control ensuring optimum growth under the given conditions. The climate computers are modular and can be adapted optimally to each individual production. The system can be supplemented with an emergency opening function that ensures the well-being of the animals in case of a power failure.
