Tunnel ventilation

The system can be used in tropical regions of the world. Tunnel ventilation is a negative pressure system suited for poultry and pig production.

System

Tunnel ventilation is the best system to cool animals by means of air velocity in order to maintain their productivity. Fresh air is taken in through a tunnel opening at one end of the building and air is exhausted at the other end of the building.

Air intake

Air is taken in through a tunnel opening at one end of the building. The tunnel opening can be with or without cooling pads.

Air outlet

Air is exhausted through large gable fans located opposite the air intake with cooling pads in order to create a cooling air current (chill effect) in the longitudinal direction of the house. It is possible to achieve a cooling effect of 10-25°C, depending on the air humidity. The air outlet is controlled in accordance with the energy-saving MultiStep^® exhaust principle, which ensures annual power savings of 50-70% compared to traditional principles.

Control

The control function is handled by the DOL 534 or the DOL 539 climate computers. These climate computers provide efficient and accurate climate control ensuring optimum growth under high temperatures. The computers control the system based on the temperature experienced by the animals.
