Climate computer for large pig and poultry houses
New functions for SKOV’s DOL 234 climate computer and a new roof outlet have been developed especially for large houses

The ever-larger pig and poultry houses require more flexible and intelligent control of ventilation. SKOV has therefore expanded the DOL 234 climate computer with several new functions to meet the requirements of large houses.

One of the climate computer's improved features enables it to now control about 500 wall inlets as compared to 250 previously. It is also possible to control four stepless air outlets. They are used in connection with the energy-saving MultiStep function. This function makes it possible to control several roof outlets steplessly for both underfloor and roof exhaustion.

One of the new DOL 234 functions allows for the connection of four water meters per house as compared to one water meter previously. This means that pigs can be divided into several batches according to size, date of stocking, etc.

DOL 234 also has a behaviour control function capable of helping the farmer if the solid floor is about to be dirtied. The solution is a program for additional spraying.

– Large houses often mean that even more monitoring is left to the climate computer at the expense of people monitoring them. So, it is important that climate computers can act when an alarm occurs. An example of this is the newly developed leak function, which enables the computer to stop water from being supplied to the house or section if unusually high consumption is measured, says Stig Veis Jørgensen, Marketing Manager at SKOV.

New air outlets for large houses
Larger houses require larger air outtakes. Therefore, SKOV now launches a new roof outlet, DA 920, which has a capacity of approx. 26,000 cubic metres/hour.

– When we developed this new roof outlet, we focused on a design that would enable it, in combination with the fan, to ensure high air efficiency at low energy consumption. The DA 920 roof outlets are therefore controlled in accordance with the MultiStep principle that minimises energy consumption while at the same time ensuring optimum use of the fresh air, says Stig Veis Jørgensen.

Both the new DOL 234 functions and the new DA 920 roof outlet will be presented as two-star new products at at EuroTier in Hanover, 11 - 14 November and at Agromek in Herning, 25-29 November.
