New management program from SKOV provides fast overview of houses
The new FarmOnline management tool enables pig or poultry producers to retain an overview of their large production units

It is now possible for pig and poultry producers to get a complete overview of their farm climate data thanks to FarmOnline.

FarmOnline is a management tool, which SKOV has developed for use by the ever-larger pig and poultry farms. It is based on very fast technology. An alarm from the house will be displayed on the FarmOnline screen the minute it occurs.

FarmOnline has live connection to all house computers at the farm. The system also makes it possible for the farmer to react immediately to an alarm and, if required, change the house computer setup via FarmOnline.

– When an alarm is generated, the farmer can react quickly and efficiently. Quick action may ensure the welfare of the animals as well as reduce or completely prevent financial losses, says Stig V. Jørgensen, Marketing Manager at SKOV.

FarmOnline will be presented at EuroTier in Hanover, 11 - 14. November and at Agromek in Herning, 25-29 November where it is one of the approved, two-star new products .

To facilitate the overview of the farm, the farmer can place a photo or drawing of the farm on the opening page of FarmOnline. In this way, the farmer will have a drawing on his PC that looks exactly like the actual conditions.

For communication between house computers and a PC with FarmOnline, a fast, stable connection is used because SKOV’s new generation of house computers have built-in 100 Mbit LAN Ethernet. This means that it is not necessary to collect data between house computers and a PC.

FarmOnline uses the new IT standard for this industry sector, which Danish Pig Production has developed in cooperation with the sector. This makes it possible to communicate with other systems, thus enabling the farmer to get an overview of the various systems through FarmOnline.

At the same time, a FarmOnline WebLink will be launched in order to make it possible for older generations of SKOV house computer to use FarmOnline, too.
