Why is temperature stability important?
In an optimal SKOV controlled broiler house you should not see temperatures deviating more than +/- 1o C from the setpoint. If deviations are higher, the system needs a check-up.
Any deviations more than +/- 1o C from the temperature setpoint will result in a drop of performance. If the temperature is too low, the broilers need to compensate by eating more feed, without increasing daily gain, to keep warm. If the temperature is higher, they will eat less feed, and grow less.
Big fluctuations from lowest to highest temperature can furthermore induce respiratory problems.
